Departure from Taormina with local guide and GT bus. Once in Catania, we will start our guided walking tour, visiting Piazza Duomo with the Cathedral, the Town Hall and the iconic elephant statue, the symbol of the city. We will cross Via dei Crociferi, known as Catania's famous Baroque street. We will continue our tour with a taste of the typical Sicilian specialities that characterise true Catanese street food, the ‘tavola calda’. We will make a short stop at a historic kiosk to enjoy a soft drink known as the ‘Mandarinetto’, next to the Castello Ursino, a symbol of the medieval period. We will visit the fish, fruit and vegetable market and wander through the narrow streets of the centre full of the typical colours, flavours and noises of the local market.  There will be a taste of the traditional horse meatball. We will return to Piazza Duomo to end the tour on a sweet note and taste the typical ‘Minnuzza di Sant'Agata’.

Return to the Taormina area 13:30 approx.
