A full tour of Mount Etna, a UNESCO site since 2013, giving the opportunity to scour the slopes of the mountain as well as altitudes. Departure by bus with tour leader, our first point of arrival is the Alcantara Gorge, where we make a short stopover. The Gorges of the Alcantara river are formed from solidified basalt and are quite impressive. You can walk along the bed of the river by paying an extra ticket. We then proceed to Randazzo where we board the Circumetnea train, an old traditional narrow-gauge train that goes around the foot of the volcano reaching up to Adrano in the south. Then by bus again, reaching up 1,900 meters, the Etna Station, Rifugio Sapienza. Stop with the possibility of soft trekking for visiting the most recent lava flows and the Silvestri craters, now extinct. Lunch is extra. Optional ascent by cable car up to 2,500 meters and continuing by off-road vehicles to the main craters area at approximately 2,800 (*) meters with the assistance of licensed guides of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club ) responsible for the reachable altitude . Stop to admire the eventual activity of the summit craters in the area of security. We strongly recommend warm clothing and suitable shoes. The cost of the excursion to Etna, ascent inclusive, has a special price valid only with advance reservation. When buying the ascent on board, the cost will be higher: Euro 62,00 for the adults and Euro 45,00 for the children.
